Tripoli, Libya - August 1st, 2023 - The Nigerian community in Tripoli held a handing-over ceremony today at the office of His Excellency, Ambassador Kabiru Musa. The ceremony marked the transition of leadership from the outgoing caretaker committee, chaired by Mr. Innocent Moses, to the newly elected President of the Nigerian community, Mr. Peter Osagie Omoregbe.
Ambassador Musa witnessed the handing-over ceremony. In his remarks, he congratulated both the outgoing and incoming leaders, and expressed his continuing support to the Nigerian community in Tripoli. He also urged the community leaders to work together to promote the interests of Nigerians in Libya.
The outgoing caretaker committee chairman, Mr. Moses, thanked Ambassador Musa for being supportive during his tenure. He also congratulated Mr. Omoregbe on his election, and wished him well in his new role.
The newly elected President, Mr. Omoregbe, expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Musa for his guidance and support during the election process. He also thanked members of the community for their trust and confidence in him.
Mr. Omoregbe said that he is committed to working with the community to address challenges facing Nigerians in Libya. He also said that he is committed to promoting the interests of Nigerians in Libya, and to building a strong and united community.
The handing-over ceremony was attended by members of the caretaker committee as well as members of the newly elected executive committee of the Nigerian community in Tripoli. It was a peaceful and orderly event that marked a smooth transition of leadership for the Nigerian community.
