Nigerian Community Secretariat in Tripoli Welcomes New Donations as Mission Urges More Performance

Following the commissioning of a new Nigerian Community Secretariat in Tripoli, Libya, last week, the Nigerian Mission in that country has continued to do its bit in order to make life easier for Nigerians that make use of the facility.

Speaking to the leaders of the Community, led by the Caretaker Committee Chairman,Moses Innocent Odigie, Sunday, in Tripoli, when staff of the Nigerian Mission, led by Amb. Kabiru Musa, donated more items to the leadership of the group, the Nigerian Envoy called for more performance in the discharge of the duties of the Caretaker Committee set up to elect a new Executive for the group and to ensure the complete setting-up of the new Secretariat.

Among the items donated by the Nigerian Mission were additional bedding and sundry items all of which, according to Amb. Musa, were intended for the effective functioning of the Secretariat. The Charge D'Affairs, in continuation of his remarks on the occasion, equally, promised that the Mission would continue to provide assistance to the Community wherever necessary.

Earlier, while receiving the items on behalf of the Community , Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the group, Mr Odigie, thanked Amb. Musa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Government for what he referred to as "looking out for their citizens on foreign soil." He promised to put to good use all that the Mission has continued to assist the Community with since the idea of building a new and befitting Secretariat for the Nigerian community in Libya was first muted.
